Successful cooperation Eager.one and Selmers
January 4, 2020
In April 2019 Eager.one was consulted by Van Oord Offshore Wind for a new type of Anode Cage Installation Tool. Van Oord contracted Eager.one, based upon Eager.one’s previous experience supplying tools for installing Anode Cage’s over Mono Piles of offshore windfarm foundations.
Previous supplied tools were based on installing Anode Cages by means of a jack-up vessel. The request of Van Oord was different, since the Anode Cage will be installed with a service crane with limited capacity, from a floating vessel. Based on these starting points we have designed and constructed the Anode Cage Installation Aid (ACIA).
Selmers supported Eager.one with the engineering and installation of the drives and controls package. Selmers performed system integration making sure that all components such as winches, the umbilical winch, cameras and lighting work together and function as one tool.
The Factory Acceptance Test has been successfully completed in the second week of January. The ACIA has now arrived in Denmark, where it is currently built under supervision of Eager.one, executed by a Selmers supervisor. The Harbor Acceptance Test is planned for next week, as well as the final delivery of the project to Van Oord Offshore Wind.
