MeeMaken, Eager.one & KenzFigee as initiatiors at 1st Re-Quip Foundation event

28-03-2025

MeeMaken, along with KenzFigee and Eager.one, are part of the driving forces behind Re-Quip Foundation. This nonprofit organization is committed to increasing sustainability and transparency within our industry, while focusing on collaboration.

The mission of Re-Quip Foundation? Uniting industry partners to implement sustainable and circular solutions for the design use and reuse of equipment in the energy market. And with the first major initiative, an online marketplace for Transportation & Installation (T&I) equipment, used equipment gets a second life.

This project was created through strong collaboration within the industry. Next to MeeMaken, KenzFigee and Eager.one, are Breman, ECHT, IV, TWD and Van Oord as co-initiators. Together, these companies are aiming for a breakthrough: gathering 50 founding supporters to realize sufficient support and funding for a successful launch of the foundation.

Networking, informing & welcoming
After two successful days of networking and knowledge sharing at the Offshore Energy Exhibition in Amsterdam (November 2024), Re-Quip has already managed to enthuse 15 Founding Supporters for the foundation. In addition, the foundation receives support from several Supporting Associations, including: AYOP, DMEC, HHWE, IRO, iTanks, NedZero & RPPC. These organization will support Re-Quip by sharing information within their networks and providing support during events and within communication.

During conversations between Re-Quip Foundation and organization within its sector, it became clear that there were still many questions about the mission and its concrete implementation. To respond to this, Re-Quip organized its very first Re-Quip Foundation event on Tuesday afternoon, March 18, 2025! The non-profit welcomed over 80 industry professionals for an afternoon of insights, inspiration and information. An important milestone in spreading the vision for a circular industry!

Event agenda
This inspiring afternoon focused on the purpose of Re-Quip Foundation. A panel discussion with four of the initiators – Natasja Sesink (MeeMaken), Tonny Westerlaken (Van Oord), Ad van den Dool (IV) and Arjan Boezeman (Breman) – formed the basis, complemented by powerful pitches and talks on sustainability and circularity. Speakers such as Derk-Jan van Heerden (AETHOS), Nina Vielen-Kallio (ECHT), David Molenaar (X seventy-one), Sylvia Boer (Maritime Sisters), Jan Vos (NedZero) and other industry experts brought Re-Quip’s mission to life in an inspiring way.

New founding supporters
An iconic moment: near the stage was a large ship’s bell that interested parties could use to let everyone know that they wanted to join Re-Quip Foundation as a founding supporter. Re-Quip proudly welcomes David Molenaar (X Seventy-One), Michiel Kraak (CCM), Steven den Hartog (Van Halteren) and Robert Lausman (OSBIT – Venterra Group) as new founding supporters! The afternoon ended with a signing ceremony with photo opportunity and a networking drink 🚀.

We are not there yet!
The afternoon was a great success, and the foundation is happy to have welcomed and met many companies and professionals. However, the mission to welcome even more founding supporters, founding associations and media partners continues. Because if one thing is clear, it is this: together we achieve more, or; Stronger through Collaboration!
