In 2019 Selmers, together with two other SMEs, won a development grant for the joint idea of an online learning platform, called “Learning on the fly!”. It stems from the belief that there is specific expertise in the minds of the staff. How nice would it be to bundle this in a digital knowledge center and make it accessible to everyone!

From this, the “Boon platform” at Selmers was born! Set up on the basis of BoonLearnings design software and filled with Selmers’ knowledge. It has already received enthusiastic responses in the “sneak preview”. Our HR team, in collaboration with our Technical Trainer, has been busy filling the platform. Initially this was quite a search, what are the ingredients and sequence that ensure an educational eLearning? Lots of information and pieces of text? “No”, said Linda Koster of the MeeMaken Academy and Martijn Wijnberg of eWorks. “Put the learner to work and make him think, by asking questions. Make sure that you make videos in which your employees come back to support you! ” “Our sister companies are so nice”, we thought. Any company that, with its expertise, reaches out to a helping hand and thus taking it a step further. Sharing is Caring!

This information is used to work on the final sprint to complete the training. This means, among other things, that we will organize a video recording day with colleagues who actively contribute to the training and also make their acting debut within the Boon platform! From a training on time management to a training on blasting and blasting roughness. We are proud of what we deliver!
